SAFE 4/5/16 Gorgeous Long-Haired Orange Tabby – RYU – Not Eating Well In Shelter! NEEDS PLACEMENT ASAP!

Ryu A1068985 – 6 yr. neutered orange tabby, stray
Upon intake Ryu was calm and had a relaxed body, he allowed all handling. Counselor was able to collar, scan (negative) and photograph.
Ryu was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He was calm and had a relaxed body upon intake, allowing the counselors to handle him without issue. He was also very docile and calm during his initial medical exam, and allowed handling with no resistance.
Reaction to Assessor: Ryu was lying down by the back, calm and relaxed.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Ryu looks at the assessor and shifts his body weight.
Reaction to cage door opening: Ryu remains soft and relaxed.
Reaction to touch: Ryu sniffs the assessor’s hand and then head-butts lightly. He slowly comes to the front, leans into petting, and begins to purr. He is very affectionate throughout the interaction.
Reaction to being picked up: Ryu remains calm and purrs when held.
Placement Determination: Average
Ryu interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
