RYLAN – A1086342
Safe - 8-28-2016 Brooklyn Rescue: Animals Can't Talk Please honor your pledges: http://www.animalscanttalk.org/You_Can_Help/
**SAFE 08/28/16** Two kittens, two behavioral ratings, one scheduled and brutal fate….meet ROAN and RYLAN! These kittens entered the ACC together, as strays, on August 20th. RYLAN is a little lady, approximately 15 weeks old and possessed of a respectable EXPERIENCE rating. ROAN is a lad of approximately 4 months’ age, and he was frightened enough to have gotten slapped with a NEW HOPE rating. Neither kitten have been favored with great (or even passable) photos, neither kitten seems to have enjoyed any social enrichment while warehoused at the ACC, so it’s no surprise that neither kitten was able to receive a home thanks to their arriving at the ACC. No, the only thing the shelter is prepared to do to RYLAN and ROAN, is to kill them without bothering to sedate them first. That really sums up the massive amount of respect the shelter has for the animals in their so-called “Care.” Apparently, salaries aren’t enough to make people give a damn. Please do better than the ACC has done, and find FOSTERS or ADOPTERS to step up for ROAN (rescue only) and RYLAN (on the public list) TONIGHT!

08/23/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Rylan was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Rylan was at the front of the kennel, hissed when the assessor approached then retreated into her litter box. Reaction when softly spoken to: Rylan slow blinks and remains motionless in her litter box with her body curled up. Reaction to cage door opening: Rylan remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Rylan is hesitant at first but relaxes and opens up quickly when pet along her body. Her body becomes more relaxed; she comes forward and appreciates attention. Reaction to being picked up: Rylan has a tense body, was wary of her surroundings and doesn’t mind being held. Behavior Determination: Experience Rylan may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
