Royal was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She attempted to run when the counselors peeked into her carrier and hissed.
Reaction to assessor: Royal was calm and relaxed upon approach.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Royal looks at the assessor with relaxed eyes.
Reaction to cage door opening: Royal remains motionless.
Reaction to touch: Royal was hesitant and tries to shift away from the assessor, but she allows petting. She will continue to try to move away, but once in the corner of her cage she will remain in place for petting.
Placement Determination: Experience No Child
Royal tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
