She has been in the previous home since she was a kitten. Socialization: She was fearful around strangers. She lived with children of the ages 8 and 10 and was respectful towards them. She played somewhat rough with adults and children because her nails were not trimmed. She lived with a 10 years old cat and was respectful towards her. She played exuberantly with other cats. She has no bite history. Behavior: She scratched people who did not respect her space. She meows during car rides. The previous owner never attempted bathing, trimming nails, or brushing her hair. She was not bothered being held but not for long. She struggle going inside carriers. For a New Family to Know: She was described as a mellow and quiet cat. She purred when she received rubs. Her activity level was low. Her favorite activities were consuming cat nips and hiding in her hidey box. She tended to be in the same room as her previous owner. She enjoyed catnip’s toys. She had the free choice to go in and out of the house to the yard. She slept in her own bed. She ate dry Friskies and did not digest wet food well. She was very litter box trained and only had accident when her litter box was not clean. She had a hooded litter box but did not like it. She used clumping tidy cat litter. She had a rough rope scratching post. During Intake: She tolerated all handling and collaring. She had a relaxed body posture inside the carrier. Her ears remained erected. Her eyes were slightly dilated.

ENRICHMENT NOTES: 04/30/17 Perched on top of den, calm and relaxed. Has almond shaped eyes and will make eye contact with me. Will lip lick and sit straight up as I extend my hand. Will shift her head forward to sniff, but quickly moves away when petting is attempted. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Roxy looks tense, crouched position at the back when approached. Reaction to cage door opening: Roxy stiffens up in place alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Roxy leans into the assessor’s hand then stands with tail slightly down and began to purr. Reaction to Being Picked up: Roxy becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Roxy interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
