Safe - 4-2-2016 Brooklyn
**SAFE 04/02/16** PERFECTLY HEALTHY ROSALIE IS HOPING FOR A MIRACLE TONIGHT – SHE IS THE 3RD OF A GROUP OF 4 CATS TO MAKE AN APPEARANCE ON THE EUTH LIST!! ROSALIE came in with 3 other cats – Jasper, Bugs and Simba. Simba is safe, Jasper’s status is still unknown and Bugs is still in the shelter. Their owner seem to have too many personal problems to deal with his four cats so he just dumped them at the shelter. ROSALIE is a bit nervous and tense because she isn’t used to being caged and poked at by strangers and most likely misses her home and kitty pals dearly! ROSALIE has a good EXPNOCHILD rating because she did allow petting but was afraid. She came from a home with other cats and was said to be affectionate with them. ROSALIE needs you to get her a freedom ride out of the shelter now! She will be just fine once she is in a safe place to decompress and adjust. This girl will be a great companion to whoever is lucky enough to save her life. EMAIL [email protected] FOR RESCUE CONTACT INFO TO SAVE ROSALIE – SHE ONLY HAS TIL 12 NOON ON WEDNESDAY SO ACT NOW!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, Rosalie has lived with two adults and three other cats in the home. Around strangers she is described as shy, when visitors enter the home she will usually stay hidden. She engages in exuberant and somewhat rough play with adults. She has never been around children or dogs. Around the other cats in the home she is relaxed and affectionate. Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Rosalie and at the time she was curled up in blanket. Rosalie’s body was tense but she sniffed the facilitator’s hand and allows petting. Rosalie was nervous and very tense when held. She buried her head in arms. Reaction to assessor: Rosalie watched the assessor from the back of the cage with wide eyes When spoken quietly: Rosalie continued the assesssor with wide eyes Reaction to door cage opening: Roslie remains motionless Reaction to touch: Rosalie allows petting with a slow approach but appears very uncomfortable Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Rosalie was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer. I was able to pet her and interact with her in a limited way. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents with no children.
