05/29/17 14:27 Basic Information: Ronny is a brown tabby DSH neutered cat that is 1 year old. He was adopted from ACC as a kitten. The owner is surrendering Ronny because she is moving to a new place that does not allow any pets. Ronny has no known illness. Socialization: He has lived with only one adult in the home. He enjoys getting rubs and purrs when petted. Ronny has lived with children of various ages from 1 year old and up. He is relaxed and affectionate. He approaches and sniffs them. He allows to be petted on his back. He displays the same behavior around adults; he leans in and rubs for attention. Ronny has never lived with other cats or dogs. Behavior: Ronny has never had a bite or scratch history. He allows to be picked up but quickly attempts to jump off. He approaches stranger after a few hours. He allows to be petted by strangers. He has never been bathed, has his nails trimmed or coat brushed. He wants into her carrier and does not mind being disturbed while sleeping. Ronny always uses his carpet scratching post. However he tends to scratch the sofa. For New Families To Know: Ronny was described as mellow, gentle and friendly. He enjoys lounging by the window or watching the birds. He also loves to sleep and sun bath. He has a low activity level. When the owner comes around he follows the owner around and meows for affection. He is an indoor cat only. He enjoys any brand of wet or dry cat food. His favorite toys are strings and wand toys. Behavior During Intake: Ronny walked out of his carrrier and sniffed his surrounding. He allowed to be petted by counselor. He allowed to be collard, scanned and stood still during photograph.

KNOWN HISTORY: Lived Indoors Previously lived with: Adults and children of various ages Behavior toward strangers: He stranger after a few hours and allows being pet. Behavior toward children: Relaxed and affectionate Behavior toward cats: Unknown Behavior toward dogs: Unknown Bite or Scratch history: None Litter box training: Yes Energy level/descriptors: Mellow, gentle and friendly with a low activity level Other notes: He allows to be picked up but quickly attempts to jump off. His favorite toys are strings and wand toys. ENRICHMENT NOTES: 05/30/17 Lying with a low body and tilted ears. He tolerates petting along his head and body, remaining still with ears flat. Needs more time to adjust. Sprayed feliway. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Ronny was tense and pressed up against the back wall of the cubby. Reaction when softly spoken to: Ronny’s ears bend flat and he appears hesitant. Reaction to cage door opening: Ronny lip licks and tries to hide behind his litter box. Reaction to touch: Ronny flinches and shifts around when the assessor touched him on the head. He’s tense, alert but slowly started to warm up to touch. His body slowly relaxes and starts to get more comfortable with full body contact. After a few soft passes he leaned in for attention and started giving soft head butts. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Timid POTENTIAL CHALLENGES: Fearful – Ronny has displayed fearful behavior during their stay in the care center and may dislike certain types of handling. A fearful cat will feel more relaxed when given options, so provide him with the chance to move closer, investigate, or interact with you. Be sure to offer incentive such as treats or play time whenever the cat makes a small positive step. Please speak to an adoption counselor for additional information on methods to desensitize your cat to their fear stimulus. RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced cat parent – Ronny may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
