11/11/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Romeo was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Romeo was lying down on her blanket near the back of the kennel with his paws folded under his body. Reaction when softly spoken to: Romeo turns towards the assessor, slow blinks and doesn’t get up or come forward when coaxed. Reaction to cage door opening: Romeo remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Romeo’s eyes widen and he slowly leans back when you approach him. He seems unsure but allows petting on his head with a slow gentle approach. He leans forward allowing cheek/neck rubs and seems to relax a bit. When touched along his back he becomes uncomfortable, quickly whips around then hisses as a warning to stop. He feels confident at the back of the kennel and doesn’t get up or come forward when coaxed. Behavior Determination: Experience No Children Romeo tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
