I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 02/10/2017 from NY 11226, owner surrender reason stated was BITEPEOPLE.

02/19/2017 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE

KNOWN HISTORY: Rogue was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Counselor was able to collar, although, Rogue was getting irritated. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Rogue looks at the assessor with soft eyes. Reaction when softly spoken to: Rogue continues to look at the assessor with soft eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Rogue remains lying down, but becomes slightly alert with wide eyes. Reaction to touch: Rogue leans into the stroke and looks around with wide eyes and slightly stiff posture. ENRICHMENT NOTES: 1/23/17: In feral den, deep growling on approach 1/25/17: In feral den. No growling today, but still could not be coaxed out. 2/16/17: Asleep on bedding, woke on approach. Continued to lay in place and leaned into place. Some tail flicking when pet along body, but no hissing or growling. 2/19/17: Resting on bedding, soft eyes and body. Came forward for treats, then went to lay back down on bedding. Continued to lay in place when door opened, slightly stiff posture, but leaned into pet MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Hissed, growled and tried to bite ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Independent RECOMMENDATIONS: _x_ Experienced cat parent BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Experienced Rogue may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Resting on bedding, soft eyes and body. Continued to lay in place when door opened. Leaned into pets and purred quietly. Slow blinked and started to purr louder after door closed, then curled up and went to sleep.
2/22/17
Came to the front of the cage of her own accord today. Briefly rubbed against the bars and looked around. Leaned and arched into pets, and purred.
2/23/17
Sitting at the front, looking around, soft eyes and body. Sat in place when door opened, leaned into pets, purred and closed eyes.
