***SAFE 05/28/16*** ABANDONED IN A BOX….Finder stated that the cat was abandoned in front of his kennel establishment in a box with 2 other cats….TITA, RODNEY and TIPPY all were left together. TITA actually came from the NYC ACC originally. TIPPY is not listed tonight. TITA is New Hope rated which means she must be pulled by a New Hope rescue. RODNEY can be adopted publicly or can also be adopted/fostered through a rescue. Both cats are already FIXED but they are both scared and shy. And why wouldn’t they be? Callously abandoned in front of a kennel….. TITA & RODNEY (& TIPPY) were all house pets with a home….PLEASE HELP THEM FIND A HOME AGAIN!! If you need help contacting a New Hope rescue, please email us at [email protected]

05/23/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Rodney came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Rodney appeared stressed. Reaction to assessor: Rodney is lying in his litter box, curled up. Reaction when softly spoken to: Rodney looks at assessor, soft body language. Reaction to cage door opening: Rodney tenses up. Reaction to touch: Rodney allows all petting. Placement Determination: Experience Rodney does not approach the assessor and appears tense and nervous, but allows all handling. Rodney is exhibiting behavior suited to experienced cat parents. 5/25 update: Rodney is not thriving in the kennel environment, continuing to hiss when approached and currently allowing only minimal handling. It is in his best interest to move into a stable home environment quickly.
