Owner stated he has no medical issues and last seen a vet about a year ago. Socialization Batista is friendly around strangers. He spent time with a 4 year old child and he was relaxed and tolerant of the child. He plays in a gentle and sometimes exuberant manner with adults and kids. He lived with an 8 year old male cat. He was affectionate, respectful, and tolerant of this cat. They played in a gentle and somewhat exuberant manner with each other. He never lived or spent time with a dog. He has never bitten or scratched a person or animal. Behavior Owner stated Batista has no behavior issues and sleeps during car rides. Owner has never given Batista a bath, trimmed his nails, or brushed his coat. He is afraid of being placed in a carrier. He enjoys being picked up and is not bothered if disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know Batista is described as friendly, affectionate, and very playful with a very high activity level. Owner stated he really likes to play fetch. Also, described as friendly, affectionate, and very playful with a very high activity level. Reaction to assessor: Rocky immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage. Reaction to door opening: Rocky remains standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Rocky head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm. Placement determination: Allows the pickup and remains calm. Rocky interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
