RIZZO’S latest medical exam says he is dehydrated and curled up in the back of his cage, lethargic…..RIZZO is a NEUTERED, AVERAGE rated guy who needs to get to a vet ASAP, so they can find out why he feels so poorly….THE ONLY WAY OUT TONIGHT FOR RIZZO IS A FOSTER OR ADOPTER!! I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 04/01/2016 from NY 10458, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

04/11/2016 Exam Type CAGE EXAM – Medical Rating is 3 C – MAJOR CONDITIONS , Behavior Rating is NONE, Weight 7.9 LBS.
Hx: Sneezing and dirty cage glass noted. S: Lethargic, curled in back of cage, unwilling to uncurl or move. Cage glass is dirty. O: Lethargic, eyes appear slightly sunken, MMs pink, estimated 8% dehydrated, decreased skin turgor EENT: No discharge OU or nose H/L: Occasional sneezing. No increased resp effort, normal BV sounds. NSR, NMA. Abd: Soft, no pain on palpation, no masses palpated M/S/I: Amb x4. No skin lesions noted. UG: Male neutered A: 1. Dehydration – predates onset of URI signs – R/O related vs. unrelated 2. Sneezing, URI Short-term prognosis: Fair P: 1. Was moved to isolation this morning. Move to Medical for closer monitoring. 2. Doxycycline 0.75 ml PO SID x10 days 3. LRS 125 ml SQ BID x7 days 4. Run CBC/chemistry tonight 1088

Reaction to assessor: Rizzo looks neutral in the cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Rizzo remains crouched position at the back, meowing attention. Reaction to touch: Rizzo leans into the assessor’s hand, but remains in place and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: He becomes antsy during the pickup and jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Average Rizzo interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
