ACTIVITY LEVEL: Steady VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Independent MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 7/19/17- Observed Behavior – Timid, but easily handled ENRICHMENT NOTES: 7/19/17 Curled up at back of cubby, behind litter box, alert. Seems wary. Lay in place when door opened, held immobile when pet, no response. 7/20/17 Moved into main adoptions room. In cubby, curled up behind litter box, alert. Retreated when door opened, then shifted uncomfortably when pet and started lip licking. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Reno remains tense, tucked limbs hiding in the cubby during the approach. Reaction to cage door opening: Reno lip licks, head up alert with eyes dilated, ears erect and forward. Reaction to touch: Reno distance increases then stiffens up while accepting the touch with no interest. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Reno tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
