**SAFE 08/10/16**CALLING ALL ANGELS, NEEDS IMMEDIATE HELP**** Rayson has only been on this earth for a short 4 months and his life has not been easy. Brought in as a stray, it is said he fell from a high rise building and has head trauma. This poor little guy, fighting for life at only 4 months. He was brought to an emergency vet last night. to stabilize him. Now, not surprisingly he is on the euth list. Rayson has not even started to live life and now it will end in one fell swoop if he is not pulled to safety. Help Rayson get the medical assistance he needs to survive and live a happy healthy life. He has a lot of competition tonight and animals with medical needs tend to get lost in the shuffle. Share him now, tomorrow is only a few hours away.

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 08/03/2016 from NY 11208, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

08/07/16 11:00 08/07/16 11:00 Recheck – bilateral olecranon fractures with left humeral displacement/luxation BARH – very friendly. Appears comfortable Good app, no v/d/s/c. No URI signs Oral WNL. NND OS – corneal opacity and symblepharon/conjunctival overgrowth. No active ocular discharge or inflammation OU. OD WNL. H/L – excess purring, did not auscult thoroughly Abd SNP/NMP Bears minimal weight on front limbs, mild swelling at elbows bilaterally – allows flexion/extension with reduced ROM. Holds front limbs up and sits on rear legs if not lying down, ambulates x4 minimally. No palpable fractures on long bone shafts. Rest of MS/I WNL A: 3 mo MI DSH Bilateral elbow fractures (olecranon) Corneal opacity/conjunctival overgrowth – likely sequela to chronic conjunctivitis, not active at this time Otherwise healthy – no other traumatic injuries or signs of systemic illness P: Doing well at BACC, pain well managed Continue buprenex and complete course of eryhtromycin. Add buprenex to treatment plan for additional 3 days Ideally would have surgical consultation for potential repair – prognosis excellent with this option Potential for healing with strict confinement for 1-2 months – prognosis good with this option Reco placement ASAP Rayson was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Cat was a stray that was brought in to VERG last night with 1) Suspect high rise/ head trauma 2) Bleeding from nose/ mouth 3) Inappropriate mentation 4) Lameness in forelimbs The person who brought him in could not afford tx. S/O) BARH. MM pk. Good mentation when stimulated but a bit dull at times. Eyes: pupils symmetric, PLR +. L eye – Corneal scarring, appears to have neovascularization but difficult to assess since 3rd eyelid up. Fluorescein stain – neg. Ears clean. NND – no bleeding from nose. No blood in mouth. No broken teeth. Hard palate ok. MSI: non-mabulatory. Bearing full weight on hind limbs but hold front limbs up. LRL – painful, swollen at elbow and appears to have crepitus L elbow. CV: HR= 200, nsr, nm. L: clr bilat. Abd: soft. UG: M, 2 tescticles A) Painful LFL – r/o fx elbow Corneal scarring OS – r/o healing ulcer P) Buprenex 0.09 cc sq bid x 5 days. Erythomycin oint OS BID x 7 d. Monitor eating. Re-check VC and set up for x-ray tomorrow. PROGNOSIS – guarded. Consider NH placement.
