***GONE 08/04/16*** HOW CAN WE HELP RASHEEDA TONIGHT?? RASHEEDA is a three year old stray, so scared, that she will wet herself….Imagine what she feels like at the ACC with the constant noise and nearness of other animals…..Wish we knew RASHEEDA’s story, how she came to be out on the street….But the only thing we know is that she will be a memory at noon tomorrow if no one fosters or adopts her. Tonight is another huge list and RASHEEDA is not an “instant” cat. I am a female gray tabby domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 3 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 07/30/2016 from NY 10462, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

8/3/16 S-watery diarrhea noted, watery diarrhea present in litter box O-QAR, hydrated EENT-CAU, COU, no nasal d/c GI-negative oral, SNP, fluid filled GIT on abdominal palpation A-diarrhea R/O parasite vs inflammation vs other P-start metronidazole 100 mg/ml-0.4 ml PO BID x 5 days LRS 75 ml SQ SID x 3 days vet check in 3 days 7/31/16 Intact female Scan negative for a microchip About 3 years old Eyes are clear Nose= No discharge Ears are clean Teeth are intact and stainned Coat is clean overall. However, she did urinate herself earlier and area is still wet from it. Not declawed Dewormed with Pyrantel Flea Treatment= Activyl As of now no signs of URI As of now no V/S/C/D NOSF Allowed handling up until a certain point. She would growl and scream very loudly. Also, she did urinate herself. She’ s more scared then anything else.

07/30/16 17:55 Rasheeda allowed councilor to collar and scan but when taked out of bag to photogrph she growled very loudly and appeared to have urinated on herself.

08/02/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Rasheeda was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She allowed some handling upon intake, but growled loudly when taken out of her carrier and urinated on herself. She allowed handling during her initial medical exam, but only until a certain point. She would growl and scream loudly after, and urinated on herself again. The report she appeared more fearful than anything else. Reaction to assessor: Rasheeda was lying down, calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Rasheeda looks at the assessor with relaxed eyes, but lip licks. Reaction to cage door opening: Rasheeda remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Rasheeda sniffs the assessor’s hand and meows. She accepts petting, but remains motionless and wraps her tail tightly against her body. She meows again, but doesn’t display any further reaction. Behavior Determination: Experience Rasheeda tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
