Progress Exam
Post Surgery Note: 3:22 PM
Rajah was sedated with telazol on intake and maintained on isoflurane for procedure.
The ventral area with the wounds was clipped and surgically scrubbed. There was a ~0.5cm puncture wound on the left lateral ventrum with no deep pocket. It was closed with 3-0 PDS in a single cruciate. There were two punctures on the caudal ventrum that were connected with a deep pocket caudally extending around the muscles but did not penetrate into the abdominal cavity. The puncture wounds were connected with metzenbaum scissors and the wound was probed further and flushed thoroughly with LRS. The wound was then closed with 2 cruciates using 3-0 PDS. A small 0.5cm area was left open to drain. An ecollar was placed and the cat recovered smoothly.
