QUINN – A1090272
Gone - 9-22-2016 Brooklyn
*** GONE 09/22/16 *** What would QUINN want potential new owners to know about him if he could pass along a message? QUINN would want them to know that he is a good boy a little scared in the hulking ACC but dealing with it as bravely as possible. QUINN would want people to see him as a loyal, trustworthy cat who wants nothing more than to please his people, even if he managed to get lost from his former home. QUINN would want people to know that he loves life, that he does all that is asked of him. QUINN does not want to die tomorrow. Please share QUINN for a foster/adopter who is willing to give this lovely cat a new lease on life. Advocate for QUINN tonight.

09/21/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Quinn was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He was growling inside of his carrier during intake, but once the door was opened her stopped. He sniffed the counselor’s hand and allowed petting on his head and shoulders. He allowed all handling to be conducted and willingly jumped back into his carrier when opened again. He became defensive during his initial medical exam, however, and displayed distance-increasing behaviors in an attempt to flee. Reaction to assessor: Quinn becomes stiff and alert upon approach, and looks around at his surroundings. Reaction when softly spoken to: Quinn slowly comes to the front and sniffs around, and then leans against the cage door with his head. Reaction to cage door opening: Quinn remains by the opening, sniffing around. Reaction to touch: Quinn sniffs the assessor’s hand and head-butts lightly. He appears to appreciate petting and would lean against the assessor’s hand, but would stay close by the opening and tries to walk out of the kennel. When the opening is blocked, his tail flickers and his body became tense. He starts to whine and growl, but continues to allow gentle petting on his head and body. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Quinn tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
