Safe - 4-20-2016 Manhattan
***SAFE 04/20/16***Lovely little QUESADILLA is a cutie! This gorgeous tortie female with the big green yellow eyes and beautiful coat was found in a box on the curb. The finders couldn’t keep her so tonight this poor baby is on death row at the shelter. A volunteer writes: Quesadilla is a spectacular tortie. She loves having her chin and neck scratched. She is as yummy as her name, and seems to be a calm cat. She will be a great member of her forever home. Won’t you be her forever human? Quesadilla can be found at the Manhattan center. A staff member writes:
QUESADILLA is an affectionate and social kitty. This sweetheart comes to the front of her cage and gives lots of head-butts to a visitor’s hand. She can get a little rough so she’s recommended for an experienced pet home with no children. Fishing pole toys are recommended for this energetic cutie! Please save this gorgeous girl before she dies a sad lonely fate! Foster or adopt QUESADILLA TODAY!!!

04/03/16 19:50 Quesadilla is a young adult female DSH cat. She was found outside in a box on the curb. Her finders couldn’t keep her and brought her to ACC. Quesadilla was a little tense and walked slowly as she came out of her box, but soon relaxed and had a soft body while we pet her, scanned her (-), collared her, positioned her for pictures, picked her up, and put her in a carrier. She rubbed her back against us and purred. She didn’t resist, retreat, or vocalize.

04/06/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Quesadilla immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage. Reaction to door opening: Quesadilla remains standing at the front of the cage, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Quesadilla head-butts the assessor’s hand, and appreciates petting on the head and body. However, after a few strokes she begins to gentle nip and play swat at the hand. Reaction to Being Picked up: She becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Experience / no child Quesadilla is social and affectionate but appears to play rough. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Quesadilla becomes overstimulated. We also recommend fishing pole-type toys for play as they allow for interaction and vigorous, stimulating exercise while keeping human hands at a distance.
