Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Purry Mason and at the time he was curled up at the back of the cage . Purry Mason had a tense body as he was approached . Purry Mason whips around when touched on back. Reaction to assessor: Purry Mason watches the assessor with wide eyes and appears nervous When spoken quietly: Purry Mason relaxes a little and seems interested in the assessor Reaction to door cage opening: Purry Mason continues to show interest but stays at he back of the cage Reaction to touch: Purry Mason allows petting and attention. He also takes a few steps forward. Try picking cat up: Purry Mason is tolerant of this type of handling. Behavior Determination: Average Purry Mason was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment he was displaying shy behavior, did not come to the front of the kennel but interacts with the Assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Purry Mason is displaying behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
