She has spent time with a three year old and is described as respectful and will allow petting but will not engage in play. She has not been around other cats or dogs. Reaction to assessor: Pupsik was curled on her blanket at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Pupsik lip licks and has eyes focused on the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Pupsik remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Pupsik lip licks then leans away when you approach and slowly warms up to touch with a slow approach. She doesn’t mind being pet all over and closes her eyes when rubbed. Reaction to being picked up: Pupsik whips around hisses then swats when attempting to pick her up. She doesn’t allow handling and backs away while low growling. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Pupsik tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his or her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
