SAFE 6/28/17 A volunteer writes: When I first met Pumpernickel she was a little sleepy but perked up right away when she realized she was getting some love and attention! She looked at me with those beautiful green eyes and my heart just melted. I then proceeded to lavish her with the attention she deserves and was thanked by sweet purring! This sweet lady will brighten up your home like nothing else can!
***Pumpernickel is a beautiful tortie that is looking for a new family who will shower her with love. This big girl has a lot of love to give.

KNOWN HISTORY:
Pumpernickel was brought in as a stray, so there is no information on her behavior in her previous home. She allowed all handling to be conducted during intake.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:
Allows all handling but nervous, crouched position
EVALUATION:
Cage Condition: Cage is neat
Reaction to assessor: Pumpernickel was resting upon approach.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Pumpernickel looks at the assessor with soft eyes.
Reaction to cage door opening: Pumpernickel remains soft and relaxed.
Reaction to touch: Pumpernickel approaches the front and head-butts. She leans in for cheek rubs and begins to purr. When petting stops, she leans her cheeks hard against the assessor’s hand for more cheek rubs.
Reaction to being picked up: Pumpernickel remains calm and continues to purr when held.
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Lively

MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Assessment: Obese, gingivitis
Plan: Continue to monitor while at BACC. Rec weight loss plan with placement
