Princess is holding court at the Brooklyn care center and would be delighted to meet you.” This lovely lady was an owner surrender due to “personal problems.” She is just two years old, tolerates all petting, handling and would be a purrfect companion to just about anyone. 12/20/15 11:18 Princess is a 2 year old brown tabby female domestic shorthair cat who arrived as an owner surrender with limited information. Upon intake Princess was curious for introduction and loose for handling. Counselor was able to scan for microchip (negative) and photorgraph but did collar. Princess did attempt to flee when not in contact with counselor but was easily retrieved. Once in the carrier Princess became shy and did not want to re-emerge but did allow some petting.

12/23/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE

Princess was bought into the care center by her previous owner due to her shedding. No other information was given. Reaction to assessor: Princess does not come to front but looks at you calm and relaxed When spoken quietly: Princess does not come to front but looks at you, calm and relaxed Reaction to door cage opening: Princess remains soft and relaxed Reaction to touch: Princess slowly approaches the front and allows petting and attention but still remains a little tense Try picking cat up: Princess is tolerant of this type of handling with a slow approach but tense Behavior Determination: Experience We don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying shy behavior. She did not come to the front of the kennel at first but slowly interacts with the assessor, appreciates attention, allows handling and tolerates all petting. Princess is displaying behavior appropriate for experienced cat parents because she requires a slow approach.
