POOKIE – 7836 aka A1017564
Safe - 10-19-2017 Brooklyn
SAFE 10/19/17 Pookie was surrendered because her former family was moving and couldn’t bring her, but she hasn’t let that get her down! She was having trouble breathing when she came in yesterday, but may have just been stressed because she appears healthy currently. This friendly lady would love to find a new home to settle down in for the long haul!
Super sweet Pookie was returned to the shelter for “no time”. She became very stressed upon owner leaving her but is easy to handle. She needs a new home asap!

Profile:
09/29/17:
Pookie is a 3 year old spayed white and brown tabby cat who was surrendered by her owner due to the fact she is moving and can no longer have pets. The owner stated that she adopted Pookie in 2014 from the ACC. Pookie has no known medical issues.
Owner stated that when around strangers Pookie is friendly and outgoing. She has spent time around children ages 5, 15 and 17 years old. When around the children Pookie is relaxed and affectionate. When playing with children and adults she is gentle. Owner stated that Pookie has not spent time in the home around dogs so it is unknown how she will react. She has spent time around other cats and she is very tolerant. When playing with other cats she is exuberant.
Owner stated that overall Pookie behaves well. On the way to the ACC in the car she was crying and meowing. When being bathed or having her nails trimmed Pookie is afraid and will struggle to get away. Pookie enjoys being brushed and held. When being put in the carrier she will struggle to get away. She isn’t bothered if she is disturbed while she sleeps.
Owner described Pookie as friendly and independent with a medium activity level. Owner stated that Pookie loves to play with the broom when your sweeping. When at home she will follow her owner around. She likes to play with balls, string and catnip toys. Pookie has been kept indoors only and likes to sleep in her cat bed or in her owners room. Pookie eats dry food and is very much litter box trained. Pookie is used to an uncovered litter box with pellet litter. Pookie does scratch on the furniture due to the fact her owner never provided her with a scratching post.
