KNOWN HISTORY: Polo was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Tries to slowly get away EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Polo was lying down in his litter box at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Polo turns towards the assessor, meows softly and was reluctant to come forward when coaxed. Reaction to cage door opening: Polo is alert. Reaction to touch: Polo’s eyes dart around and he seems a little wary of his surroundings. He warms up to touch and leans in allowing petting and rubs along his body. His body perks up, he rolls around and comes forward to solicit attention. Polo rubs against the assessor’s hand and appreciates attention. Reaction to being picked up: Polo was tense when picked up, clung onto the assessor then leaped back into the kennel. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Somewhat chatty CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Sweet, Affectionate BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Polo interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting.
