***SAFE 11/15/17***DELICIOUS AND FRIENDLY CREAMSICLE NEEDS YOU!!! 3 year old POLLIE was dumped by his owner. He’s lived with several other kitties–with whom he got a long great. Everyone knows creamsicle boys are the sweetest. Besides a curable kitty cold, Pollie is in good condition, already neutered and can’t wait to be your sofa snuggler. HE ONLY HAS TONIGHT. MUST BE RESERVED BY NOON TOMORROW. TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE.

Hello, my name is Pollie. My animal id is #11811. I am a desexed male orange tabby cat at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 3 years 1 weeks old. – P
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 05-Nov-2017, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- landlord won’t allow.
Pollie is at risk due to being diagnosed with an Upper Respiratory Infection which is contagious to other cats. Pollie will likely require in home care with a course of antibiotics. There are no known behavior concerns for Pollie at this time.

Pollie was very stiff bodied when I was trying to collar him he did not want to leave the carrier until I offered him food. He allowed me to pick him up and scratch his head.

How is this cat around strangers?: Pollie is fearful with strangers he will keep his distance and will run if approached by someone they don’t know.
How is this cat around children?: Pollie did not live with children in her last home
How is this cat around other cats?: Pollie lived with 20 other cats at home and got along well with them. She would play and be active with the other cats. He liked to play rough and does like to play bite.
How is this cat around dogs?: Pollie did not live with dogs in her last home
Behavior Notes: Pollie tends to scratch at the walls if she does not have a scratching post available to her.
Bite history:: Pollie has no history of having bitten another person or animal.

For a New Family to Know: Pollie does not like to have her nails trimmed and usually is wrapped up in a blanket to trim her nails. He does enjoy having his coat brushed and being picked up and held. He likes to play with balls of string and will keep to himself if he’s not being active. He is very litter box trained and never has accidents outside of them. He enjoys using cardboard scratching posts.

MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: Observed Behavior -vocal, scared
ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 11/6/17 Curled up on bedding, wide-eyed, seemed uncomfortable. Lay in place when door opened, allowed all pets, eyes wandering. Needs time to acclimate. Sprayed thunderease. 11/7/17 Resting in top cubby, wide-eyed, head down, seemed wary. Lay in place when door opened, eyes became slightly dilated. Allowed pets, but turned head away. Seemed uncomfortable. Lots of flea dirt noticed throughout kennel. Sprayed thunderease.
Cage Condition:: No change
Reaction to assessor:: Pollie remains crouched position hiding at the back of the cage cubby.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Pollie becomes alert with eyes wide open.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Pollie remains immobile in place with ears erect and forward.
Reaction to touch:: Pollie seems unsure at first, but began to accept the touch and slowly warms up and head bunts the assessor’s hand.
Reaction to being picked up:: He becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage.
