***SAFE 05/27/16***POOR POG HAS THE KITTY COLD AND NEEDS A RESCUE ANGEL TONIGHT!! POG came in with his buddy BEANIE A1074630 who made an appearance on last night’s euth list and status is unknown. POG is only about a year old – just a grown kitten! He is confused and upset at being trapped and dumped at the shelter – and who can blame him? POG did allow some limited petting with a “sscratcher” but is afraid and was punished with a NEW HOPE only rating. You will need a rescue group to get him out of there. POG is young and with patience and a calm, loving home, he will most likely blossom into a wonderful companion if given the chance. Why not take a chance on this 1 year old perfectly healthy house panther tonight? POG NEEDS A HERO AND THAT HERO NEEDS TO BE YOU!! EMAIL [email protected] FOR RESCUE INFO NOW!

05/25/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Please note that Pog is being treated for an upper respiratory infection at the time of the behavior assessment. This condition may affect some of the behaviors shown during evaluation. Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Pog and at the time he was hiding in the cat den. Pog hisses and arches back. He had wide eyes and focused on all movements. He tolerates petting with scratcher. Reaction to assessor: Pog was at the back of the cage watching the assessor When spoken quietly: Pog stayed at the back of the cage Reaction to door cage opening: Pog becomes shifts around Reaction to touch: Pog ears flatten, he hisses and he does not allows petting at all Try picking cat up: did not attempt Behavior Determination: NewHope Pog was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. He seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment Pog was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. He may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
