10/22/16 16:08 Basic Info: Poa A1094361 is a 8yr old neutered cat that was surrendered due to house soiling. Poa was given to the perviosu owner as a gift 6 months ago. Poa has been to the vet recently. Socialization: Around strangers Poa is friendly/outgoing. He hasn’t lived with any dogs or cats but was gentle and relaxed with the adult in the home. Poa will approach when a unfamiliar person enters the home. Poa has no exprence around children. Behavior: Poa has never bitten anyone or animal. Poa isn’t bothered by the following: being brushed, being in a car, being picked up/held or with being placed into a carrier. He hasn’t been disturbed while sleeping/resting, been bathed or had his nails trimmed since he was a kitten. Recently Poa has been using the bathroom outside of the litter box. Client expressed for the last 2 months he hasn’t used his litter box at all. For a New Family to Know: Poa is described as friendly, confident, playful (at times), mellow & quiet with a low-medium activity level. When the owner is home he follows them around sometimes. He enjoys ball & mouse toys. Poa eats dry Friskies (which is left out all day) and wet food when the owner comes home. He uses an uncovered litter box trained with clumping litter within, doesn’t have a scratching post and doesn’t scratch on items in the home. Intake Behavior: Poa was alert and timid upon intake. Poa allowed all handling. Scanned negative.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, Poa is friendly and outgoing around strangers and never lived with any cats or dogs. He never lived with children and was gentle and relaxed with the adults at home. He doesn’t mind being brushed, picked up or being placed in a carrier. His owner describes him as friendly, confident, playful (at times), mellow & quiet with a low-medium activity level. Reaction to assessor: Poa was relaxed at the front of the kennel looking out at his surroundings. Reaction when softly spoken to: Poa lifts her head up, makes eye contact then gently head butts the kennel door. Reaction to cage door opening: Poa is calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Poa sniffs the assessor’s hand and allows petting all over. He leans in when rubbed on his cheeks then gives soft head butts. His body rises up when pet, he rolls around while rubbing against his litter box and he occasionally lip licks. Reaction to being picked up: Poa was a bit tense when picked up but remained calm and allowed all handling. Behavior Determination: Average Poa interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
