ENRICHMENT NOTES:
6/12/18
Hisses on approach, strikes and stiffens up in place. Accepts the touch, but began to shiver with no interest toward the interaction.
6/13/18
Crouched with sibling in cubby, tense, eyes dilated. Started hissing on approach, shifted back when door opened, hissing and spitting frantically. Growled and swatted when touched, then held still when toweled, but hunched down, trying to hide face in bedding. Hissed and retreated when returned to cage.
6/14/18
Crouched position at the back of the cage cubby, pupils dilated, hissing and striking, avoiding contact. Once touched she stiffens up, ears flat to the side and shows no interest during the petting.
6/18/18
Crouched at back with sibling, stiff posture, eyes dilated. Started hissing when door opened. Hissed, spat, tried to swat when attempted touch. Held immobile when picked up and toweled, extremely tense, eyes fully dilated and darting. Would not make eye contact. Slowly retreated to back when returned to cage, tail and body held low. Allowed further pets without hissing, but clearly still scared.

Pisa becomes alert with eyes wide open, anxiously looking around.

Pisa increases distance, hisses with ears turned to the side and strikes at the assessor’s hand.

She is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.

Hisses with body stiff at the back of the cage cubby, accepts the touch but began to shiver in place.
6/13/18
Crouched with siblings in cubby, tense, eyes dilated. Started hissing and retreating when door opened. Sat quietly when toweled, still tense, eyes wandering. Eventually dozed off. Slowly retreated again when returned to cage, resumed hissing.
6/14/18
Crouched position at the back of the cage cubby, pupils dilated, stiff body, slowly leans away from the hand, but when touched he shows no interest. He continues to hiss and low growl throughout the interaction.
6/18/18
Resting at front, soft posture, eyes dilated, but sleepy. Lay in place when door opened, allowed all pets. Sat calmly when held, curled up in lap, no towel needed, occasionally looking around. Still seemed a little wary, but no longer outright fearful. Retreated to back when returned to cage, no hissing, allowed further pets.
