SAFE 6/19/18 PIPER’S owner brought him to the shelter with a mild URI and after he was recently neutered. PIPER needs a new home and some follow up care. This handsome panther boy is waiting for his purrson to come get him.

Subjective: Q-BAR. Scared, nervous, tense, and stays low to the table. Well behaved during PE, approached slowly, no signs of aggression.

MM pink, moist, normal skin turgor. Euhydrated.
EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no ocular discharge noted. Mild amount of clear seromucoid nasal discharge bilaterally.
Oral Exam: neg oral
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic, normal RR/RE
ABD: tense but no overt signs of pain, no masses palpated
U/G: MN. Recent neuter on 6/12/18. Scrotal neuter site is clean and dry, but it’s not fully healed. There is a small area of exposed raw skin. Area appears quiet and non-infected, mild bleeding.
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal: normal externally
Assessment
Mild URI — likely viral at this point. Nasal discharge is seromucoid.
Recent neuter on 6/12 — scrotum not fully healed
Overweight
Prognosis: good
Plan:
Cleaned scrotum with dilute chlorhexidine
Move to ISO
Not starting abx at this time as URI is still likely viral
Vitamin B12 injection 0.25 mL SQ once
Fortiflora 1 packet in food BID x 7 days
Vet check 6/16 — check URI, appetite, and scrotum
