DIED 3/14/17 PINTO IS A BLACK AND WHITE KITTY WHO IS ABOUT 3 YRS OLD AND CAME INTO THE ACC SEVERELY INJURED. HE HAS POSSIBLE PELVIC FRACTURE AND OTHER HIND LIMB FRACTURES. CANNOT PUT WEIGHT ON HIND LEGS AND IS IN PAIN. NEEDS IMMEDIATE MEDICAL !

Medical Summary 1/4/17 Sex: Male intact Scan: Negative Estimated age: 4 years old Fleas: No flea dirt. S: Meows, very interested in my hand movements, allows all handling O: BAR, estimated 10-12% dehydrated, significantly decreased skin turgor, BCS 4/9, MMs pink EENT: No discharge OU, AU. Mild amt dried blood at nares. Severe gingivitis and tartar. Fractured right maxillary canine. Left max canine is intact but appears to be pushing into both the upper and lower lips – there are thickened, ulcerated “kissing lesions” on the upper and lower lips near the left max/mandib canines, with purulent discharge in the lower lip lesion. H/L: NSR, NMA. Eupnic, quiet lung sounds. Abd: Slightly tense, doughy. No pain on palpation, no masses palpated. M/S/I: Non-weight-bearing in hind legs, right hind leg appears to be dangling from the stifle – very painful, did not palpate heavily. No skin lesions noted. UG: Male intact, testicles soft and symmetrical. A: 1. Hind limb fracture(s) 2. Severe dental disease Short-term prognosis: Good to poor depending on nature of HL fractures Current surgery status: Temporary waiver for fractures. P: 1. Administered 0.2 ml hydromorphone (2 mg/ml) IM and 200 ml LRS SQ 2. Will take pelvic and HL rads today 3. Start buprenorphine 0.25 ml SQ q8-12 this afternoon 1088
