PINKY – A1079370
Gone - 7-15-2016 Brooklyn
***GONE 07/15/16*** SCARED BABY GIRL NEEDS NEW HOPE ANGEL TONIGHT! PINKY is a gorgeous gray and white kitten at just 9 months old. She was brought into the shelter as a stray. Pinky is scared in the shelter environment, but is slowly becoming more comfortable. Everyone knows the ACC is no place for any cat, much less a kitten like Pinky! They WILL KILL HER AT NOON TOMORROW FOR HER FEAR! Once placed in a relaxed home environment, cats like this will often shine. Can you give her a chance to show you who she really is? Pinky needs a NEW HOPE RESCUE to save her. If you’d like to FOSTER/ADOPT her, please contact the Help Desk at [email protected] immediately to begin working with a New Hope partner. Her last hours are slipping away, act NOW!

07/09/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Pinky was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. The enrichment facilitator has been monitoring Pinky and reports she was extremely nervous upon intake. During her stay she’s become more social, coming to the front and allowing limited contact but she gets irritated easily and will lash out. She currently tolerates petting briefly before crying out loudly and swatting. Reaction to assessor: Pinky cries out and reaches through the kennel bars with paws. Reaction when softly spoken to: Pinky’s tail start to flicker and her ears bend flat as her eyes become focused on the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Pinky grumbles and tries to swat at the assessor. Reaction to touch: Pinky calms down and tolerates petting on her head briefly before hissing and swatting. She retreats to the back with her body lowered and continues to low growl. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Pinky is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to swat and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
