02/28/16 15:09 Basic Information: Pinky is a twelve year old white and black male domestic shorthair. He was surrendered due to his owners child have allergies. He is described as independent, fearful and assertive. Socialization: Pinky has lived with three adults and one toddler. Around strangers he is described as fearful and will stay hidden when visitors enter the home. Around children he is tolerant and respectful, owner stated the child will pull on his tail and he would never hiss or growl. He has not been around other cats or dog. Behavior: Pinky has had litterbox issues within the last month. Owner stated he has been urinating and defecating outiside his litterbox. He was not taken to the vet for this issue; owner believes it is due to Pinky seeking attention. Pinky will struggle and hiss when bathed and when his nals are trimmed. He is fearful when brushed and will flee. He does not like to be held and when placed in a carrier will swat and hiss. For a new family to know: Pinky likes to stay in a favorite spot when home, under the bed. Owner stated he has been kept only indoors and sleeps underneath the bed. He likes to play with and toys, catnip toys and laser pointers. He eats dry food Meow Mix brand and eats from an automatic feeder. Upon intake Pinky was hissing, swatting and lunging. Counselor was unable to collar, scan or photograph.

As per previous owner, Pinky has lived with three adults and one toddler. Around strangers he is described as fearful and will stay hidden when visitors enter the home. Around children he is tolerant and respectful. the child will pull on his tail and he would never hiss or growl. He has not been around other cats or dog. Our enrichment facilitator interacted with Pinky and at the time he was at the front rubbing against the kennel door. Pinky conflicted grumbles when touched. She becomes stiears flatten. Goes back to soliciting attention. Tail shaking. Hisses when touched on body. Reaction to assessor: Pinky does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Pinky does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Pinky remains motionless but softly meows at the assessor Reaction to touch: Pinky allows petting with a slow and gentle approach Try picking cat up: Pinky is tolerant of this type of handling but tense. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child At the time of the assessment Pinky was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer. I was able to pet him and interact with him in a limited way. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents with no children.

Dental disease grade 3/4. Mild waxy debris AU. No nasal or ocular d/c. Grade 2 right systolic parasternal murmur. BCS 5/5, 7.5/9 obese. FeLV/FIV SNAP: negative A: Geriatric underlying, heart murmur, obese, dental disease. P: Recommend geriatric work-up on placement candidate for NH rescue. Pending CBC/Chem/UA, echocardiogram, needs dental. PROGNOSIS: Good
