PINK – A1067775
Safe - 3-20-2016 Brooklyn Rescue: Happy Homes Please honor your pledges: http://www.happyhomesinc.org/
***SAFE 03/20/16*** PINK was being fed for a few months but the Finder stated that her husband got a reaction when he entered the yard. Some people must think that allergies are not only not treatable but airborne as well! And yet the Finder brought her to the ACC, when she should have left well enough alone. PINK has baggage..she’s late in pregnancy and needs a home now! The ACC won’t think twice about killing all or some of them! PINK is just a baby herself at only one year of age and needs experienced pet parents with NO children! Please, offer to at least FOSTER PINK if not ADOPT! She may have a rock star name. But is definitely NOT leading a rock star life!

03/18/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Pink came into the care center as a stray, having been fed in the yard by the finder. We cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home or to her previous situation. She has been hesitant to interact since arrival, though she tolerates touch and handling. With our enrichment facilitator Pink was initially nervous, leaning away from contact, but with a slow approach she allowed petting all over her head and body. Pink was again hesitant to interact during her behavior evaluation, pressing herself against the back wall of her cage, though she tolerated gentle petting and cheek scratches. Reaction to assessor: Pink is at the back of her cage when approached. Reaction to cage door opening: Pupils dilate and Pink retreats as much as she can. Reaction to touch: Pink leans away from contact and does not relax or solicit attention at any point. However, she also does not hiss, growl, swat, or show any aggressive behaviors throughout the interaction. She stretches her chin forward for scratches. Placement determination: Experienced home without children Pink tolerates attention and petting but appears to be fearful and stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She will likely need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
