ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Timid KNOWN HISTORY: Pickle was brought in to the care center as a stray with unknown history. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – shy but gentle; easy to handle and examine ENRICHMENT NOTES: 4/24/17- Curled up in cubby, asleep behind bedding. Woke when door opened, eyes dilated. Lay in place and sniffed hand, then purred and leaned into pets, ate offered treats. Some minor lip licking seemed a bit wary. 4/25/17- Laying in cubby, soft eyes and body. Lay in place when door opened. Ate treats from my hand, leaned into pets, closed eyes. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Pickle looks neutral, lying down at the back of the cage. Reaction to cage door opening: Pickle becomes alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Pickle accepts the stroke while she slowly lip licks in place and remains immobile. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Pickle may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
