KNOWN HISTORY: Phoebe was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Quiet, friendly EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Phoebe was crouched over her blanket at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Phoebe is curious and inches forward to investigate when coaxed. Reaction to cage door opening: Phoebe moves away with her tail lowered. Reaction to touch: Phoebe’s eyes dart around and she seems a little hesitant when the assessor extends her hand forward. She sniffs the assessor, then leans in for attention and allows petting and rubs all over her body. Her body loosens up, she gains a little confidence then approaches the front seeking attention. Reaction to being picked up: Phoebe was a bit tense when picked up but remained calm and allowed all handling. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Affectionate BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Phoebe interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
