***SAFE 08/01/16*** THREE LITTLE KITTENS, FRIGHTENED BY THE SHELTER NEED A RESCUE ANGEL TONIGHT!! HARLEY and PEYTON are 10 weeks old and JAMIE is only 7 weeks old. All three of them came in together and the poor kittens are frightened and hissy. Can you blame them? They were brought in from the Astoria area of the city by someone who probably didn’t want them around. JAMIE is a bit underweight and will need foster to help him gain some weight so he can be adopted. HARLEY and PEYTON are healthy and just need to learn to trust. All 3 are going to need a patient cat purrson who can show them that not all humans will harm them. The ACC is not going to give them a chance and will end their existence at noon. Fostering is free -the rescues pay vetting and all you do is give the TLC and love! But you better hurry because at noon, these three kittens may be the first to be wheeled down the hall to the euth room. Don’t let the last face they see be the person that ends their lives! EMAIL THE HELP DESK NOW AT [email protected] FOR RESCUE CONTACT INFO TO FOSTER OR ADOPT! DON’T WAIT- ACT NOW!!

07/27/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Peyton looks at the assessor from the corner of the cage in a low tense position When spoken quietly: Peyton hisses at the assessor Reaction to door cage opening: Peyton becomes stiff and continues to hiss Reaction to touch: Peyton hisses, growls and swats when attempted to touch Try picking cat up: Peyton is not tolerant of this type of behavior Behavior Determination: NewHope Peyton was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. Harley seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment he was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
