KNOWN HISTORY: Petunia was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She appeared friendly during intake. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Subjective: Calm, alert, allows handling. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Petunia was lying down and looking around, calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Petunia gets up and stretches, and then she comes to the front and rubs against the cage door, soliciting attention. Reaction to cage door opening: Petunia remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Petunia head-butts, leans in for petting, and begins to purr. Her tail quivers slightly and she continues to nudge the assessor with her head for more attention. She is very affectionate throughout the interaction. Reaction to being picked up: Petunia remains calm and allows handling. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow, Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Social, Sweet, Affectionate BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Petunia interacts with the observer, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
