I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 10/28/2016 from NY 11368, owner surrender reason stated was ALLERGIES.

10/28/16 15:25 BASIC INFORMATION: Pepe is a gray tabby DSH male 10 month old cat. He was given to the owner and has no known health issues. Pepe was last seen by a vet 1 year ago. Pepe has been surrendered to ACC due to owners family members allergies towards the cat. SOCIALIZATION: Pepe is unbothered by strangers and is tolerant when strangers pet him. He has resided with small children. Pepe plays with the children & is tolerant of their presence and allows them to pet him. Pepe has not been exposed to dogs, cats or other small animals. He has not bitten or scratched another animal or a person within the past 10 days. BEHAVIOR: Pepe allows owner to pick him up and place him inside of carrier. When Pepe is asleep and is disturbed he is unbothered by it. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW: Pepe is best described as a mellow & friendly cat. He has a medium to activity level. Pepe enjoys playing withcat toys. When owner is home, Pepe follows owner around the house. Pepe would do best in a family or single person home. He has been kept indoors only. He enjoys sleeping anywhere he feels comfortable. Pepe eats wet and dry food from brand friskies daily. Pepe is litter box trained. BEHAVIOR UPON INTAKE: Pepe appeared to be relaxed in the carrier. Once Pepe was taken out of carrier and became shy & displayed a low tense body. After counselor handled carefully he allowed all handling & scanned negative.

Pepe’s previous owner reports he is unbothered by strangers and is tolerant when strangers pet him. He has lived with small children and is playful with them, tolerating their presence and allows them to pet him. He has not been around other cats, dogs, or small animals. He allows the owner to pick him up and place him inside a carrier. He was best described as mellow and friendly, with a medium activity level. He enjoys playing with cat toys and will usually follow the owner around the home. Reaction to assessor: Pepe was curled up by the back and looks at the assessor with soft eyes. Reaction when softly spoken to: Pepe lowers his gaze, but will look up at the assessor again. Reaction to cage door opening: Pepe continues to look at the assessor and remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Pepe was a bit hesitant, but he accepts petting and curls up. He arches his back and leans in for petting, closing his eyes. He seems to appreciate petting, but may be a little shy. Reaction to pick up: Pepe was tense during pick up, but nuzzles against the assessor when held. Behavior Determination: Experienced Pepe tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent, and need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.

CONTINUE TO MONTIOR WHILE AT BACC. RECHECK TOMORROW. EXCELLENT PROGNOSIS 11/08/16 VET CHECK – MONITOR FOR VOMITING QAR. NO VOMIT IN CAGE. FRESH FOOD AND CLEAN LITTER CONTINUE TO MONITOR WHILE AT BACC. EXCELLENT PROGNOSIS 11/07/16 Vomiting noted during rounds. O: BARH. Eating/drinking well. One area of clear vomit in cage. No diarrhea. A: Episode of vomiting. DDX: stress, GI disease, dietary intolerance. P: Monitor for further vomiting. Excellent prognosis.
