DVM Intake Exam
Estimated age: 4 months
Microchip noted on Intake? negative
History : stray, reported to have issue with back legs
Subjective: BAR, ~5% dehydrated. Dragging back legs but able to move around and very friendly. Dirty but no c/s/v/d.
Observed Behavior – Very sweet. Purring, friendly, and allowed all handling.
Evidence of Cruelty seen -no
Evidence of Trauma seen -yes
EENT: Eyes clear, ears have mild brown waxy debris, no nasal or ocular discharge noted
Oral Exam: adult incisors, the rest is kitten dentition, no oral ulcers
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupneic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated, bladder small and soft
U/G: FI, no MGTs, no vulvar d/c
MSI: Ambulatory x 2, paraplegia with positive deep pain and withdrawals, absent CPs, cachexia in HLs, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, dirty hair coat
CNS: Mentation appropriate -paraplegia, normal CN, absent CP in HL but positive withdrawal and deep pain, normal anal tone
Fractured pelvis-Left SI luxation, left acetabular fracture, left pubic fracture
Paraplegia r/o trauma from pelvic fx
Prognosis: Fair to poor depending on progression
Sedate with telazol 0.05ml IM for rads
2 view HL and pelvis rads-Fractured pelvis-Left SI luxation, left acetabular fracture, left pubic fracture
Start simbadol 0.24mg/kg SQ SID x3d until 11/30
