***SAFE 10/27/16***2 SWEET SENSITIVE FEMALE CATS are desperately in need of your help tonight! CRYSTAL and PEARL were brought to the shelter because their owner had too many pets. They lived with both dogs and cats and children and are both described as VERY SWEET! If they aren’t rescued, they will sadly killed at the shelter tomorrow. They are both 1 year old! CRYSTAL is a pretty brown tabby. She reaches out to give a visitor a tap with her paw. This cutie is stressed and will need a little time to warm up to her new home. She is only available through New Hope Rescue. Contact [email protected] if you can foster sweet CRYSTAL! Her pal PEARL is also 1 year old. She is a pretty gray and white female. She blinks shyly and lets herself be pet. She’s a darling but also stressed at the shelter and would be great in an experienced pet home, like her sister. PEARL is available for adoption. Please rescue this sweet young kitties! They are loving and in need of your love and kind hearts today!!!

10/23/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Pearl’s previous owner provided limited information on her behavioral tendencies in a home environment. She was originally found as a stray, but lived in a home with both cats and dogs. She is comfortable around children and was reported to be very sweet. She was very nervous during her initial medical exam; hissing, resisting handling, and attempting to flee. Reaction to assessor: Pearl was crouched over and becomes alert when approached. Reaction when softly spoken to: Pearl squints her eyes and blinks. Reaction to cage door opening: Pearl retreats to the back and wraps her tail tightly against her body. Reaction to touch: Pearl was hesitant and hissed initially when touched, but she lowers her body and relaxes with more gentle strokes on her head and body. She still appears unsure of touch and blinks throughout the interaction. Behavior Determination: Experience Pearl tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Her previous owner reports she has done well around children, but due to her stress level seen in the care center, we recommend any future home with children conduct a thorough interaction before adopting.
