Peaches is an 8 year old domestic shorthair who was adopted from the ACC 8 years ago. Her 5 year old son has developed severe allergies and she does not want him to keep him constantly on medication. Peaches has no injuries or health problems that the owner is aware of.
Around strangers, Peaches is very afffectionate and friendly and is not shy about seeking attention from strangers. She has lived with a 5 year children and was very friendly and tolerant of him since he was a toddler. Peaches plays gently with adults and children. SHe has not spent time with any cats or dogs. She has not bitten another animal or person.
Peaches has no known behavioral issues that the owner is aware of. During the car ride, she was afraid and kept trying to jump out of her carrier. The owner has never bathed Peaches but she has used baby wipes to wipe her down. Peaches also is not bothered by trimming her nails, brushing her coat, placing her in a carrier, and picking her up.
Peaches is described as a friendly, affectionate, playful, and confident cat. Her energy level is medium to low but loves to play with balls, catnip stuffed or scented toys, and wand toys. SHe was kept strictly indoors. Her favortie place to sleep was her bed on the couch in the living room. SHe was free fed Iams and Blue Buffalo and her favorite treats are Temptations. SHe is use to a hooded litterbox with clumping clay. SHe loves to use her scratching pad made of cardboard and she used it daily.
Sitting in litterbox, alert as I approach. She comes forward and chirps when spoken to with a raised tail. Head-butts my hand and leans into petting along her head and body, licking her lips and looking around the room. A bit nervous after her first day but warms up quickly with contact – friendly cat. Doing well.
