08/15/17 13:21 Basic Information: Paula is a 10 year old altered female domestic shorthair. She was given as a gift to owner when she was one years old. Owner stated Paula is healthy and has no health concerns. Owner surrender Paula due to personal reasons. Socialization: Paula lived with one male adult and been around 6 and 18 year olds. Owner stated Paula is friendly towards everyone she meets and very gentle. Her behavior is unknown towards other animals since she was the only pet in the home. She was indoors only and activity is to a medium. Owner describes Paula as friendly, affectionate, playful, mellow, independent and quiet. Behavior: Paula has never bitten or scratched anyone owner stated. She has a habit of scratching the couch from time to time. She meows during car rides but becomes quiet after a while. She was never given a bath or nail trim. She allow getting brushed but doesn’t like to be picked up for a long period of time. For New Family to Know: Mia is trained to use litter box that is uncovered. She eats wet food in the morning and have dry food available all day. She likes to follow owner around the house or stay underneath bed or table. She doesn’t play with toys but will play with anything that dangles. She likes to sleep in an open carrier. Upon intake Mia was calm and relaxed. She scanned negative for a microchip and allowed all handling.

ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Somewhat chatty CHARACTER TYPE: Social, Sweet, Affectionate ENRICHMENT NOTES: 8/16/17- Came to the front on approach, soft eyes and body. Meowed, sniffed hand through the bars. Stayed at the front when door opened. Ate treats from my hand, leaned and arched into pets. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Paula immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage. Reaction to door opening: Paula remains standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Paula head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Paula interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
