09/08/16 17:43 Animal’s appearance – Kitten appeared clean and of healthy weight. Animal’s demeanor with you – Kitten was not handled during intake. Kitten came in a trap and was attempting to flee. Kitten was transferred directly from trap to den. Kitten appeared tense, nervous, and scared. Client stated that there is a female and a male stray cat in his area that have procreated and having been living under his deck. Client decided to trap the kittens to cease the cycle of even more kittens. Resources were given to the client to have the adult male & female TNR’d so the prevention of future offspring can be halted.

Paula came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Paula attempted to flee. Reaction to assessor: Paula is in the back of her cage, eyes wide. Reaction when softly spoken to: Paula looks tense, alert. Reaction to cage door opening: Paula shifts against the back of the cage. Reaction to touch: Paula hisses, allows limited petting. Placement Determination: Experience No Child Paula does not approach the assessor, appears fearful, and tolerates limited handling. Paula is exhibiting behavior suited to experienced cat parents with no children.
