PATCHESS – A1084508
Gone - 8-11-2016 Manhattan
**GONE 08/11/16**”NEVER SEEN BY A VETERINARIAN***…..one know they’re dealing with high class owners when they hear that!!…..So it’s no surprise that they decided to dump PATCHESS when they moved some place new!! PATCHESS is an eight year young, chubette, who was afraid of the family 5 year old (probably with good reason). Otherwise, she was mellow and low key……However we know that the ACC frightens cats and with her family’s betrayal and the lovely ambiance of the ACC, PATCHESS has a NEW HOPE rating. Please help PATCHESS tonight by applying for FOSTER or ADOPT through a NEW HOPE rescue……The ACC has shown that they have no problem killing cute, adorable calicoes….MAKE SURE PATCHESS IS NOT A STATISTIC TOMORROW!!

08/10/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Patchess’s previous owner reports she is shy around strangers for several minutes. She has lived with a five year old and would ignore or hide from the child. She has not been around other animals and isn’t bothered when placed in a carrier, picked up or held (usually), or when she is brushed. She was described as mellow, independent, and quiet with a low-medium activity level. She occasionally follows the owner around at home and enjoys lounging around. Reaction to assessor: Patchess was crouched upon approach and becomes stiff and alert. Reaction when softly spoken to: Patchess looks around at her surroundings and lip licks. Reaction to cage door opening: Patchess hisses and backs away. Reaction to touch: Patchess focuses on the assessor’s hand and starts to breathe rapidly. She hisses and shifts away to avoid contact, lifting her paw to prepare to strike. She attempts to avoid touch and strikes if petting was attempted, further backing away and lip licking. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Patchess is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment, and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
