Medical Summary BARH scan negative female cat appx 9 yrs old nervous, hissing, growling, resisted handling geriatric heavy tartar clean EEN dandruff and dirty coat dermatitis on back very long nails unable to trim BCS 5/9 NOSF
DVM Exam 8/3/17:
Does well if you go slow and minimal restraint, scruffed to palpate belly and did fine, was purring, maybe growled one time but overall did great
Clear OU/AU, nndc
OP 2/4 ddz
H/L reg, no obvious murmur, purring a lot, ssp, lungs clear/eupenic, no coughing or sneezing noted
ABD slightly tense, does not like deep palpation (think just behavioral thing), no obvious abnormalities noted
Integ generalized flakiness and slightly unkempt, small area of alopecia/scarce hair coat mid back towards the right, NOT circular, do not suspect ringworm, seems more bacterial, no obvious ectoparasites
BCS 4/9, dorsal muscle wasting noted
UG f/i, no obvious spay scar or tattoo
Neuro alert and appropriate
A:Dermatitis-r/o bacterial/pyoderma vs. skin allergy vs. other infectious vs. other
Otherwise apparently healthy
P:Night tech to give Convenia 8 mg/kg SQ tonight
Recheck skin in 14 days
Good prognosis but may require long-term management (hypoallergenic diet)

7/31/17- Resting in cubby, soft eyes and body. Came out to main compartment on approach, meowed. Head-butted, leaned and arched into pets, purred. Played gently with catnip toy.
Cage Condition: No change
Reaction to assessor: Patches immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage.
Reaction to door opening: Patches remains standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention.
Reaction to touch: Patches head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body.
Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm.
BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner
Patches interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting.
This cat can go to a beginner home.
