***SAFE 10/15/16*** A SECOND CHANCE TONIGHT FOR SWEET PASTRY!!! LET’S MAKE IT COUNT! PASTRY is a good name for this cute black cat with a tiny bit of white on his chest, because he’s a sweetie! He is a male, around 2 years old, who was found as a stray and brought to the shelter in search of a better life. Time is running out for this sweet guy. He’s on tomorrow’s list to be killed at the shelter if he’s not rescued. This little guy is small, which is possibly why they keep referring to him as a kitten in his profile! He is anxious, but can easily be calmed down and he is open to petting and being held. PASTRY would make an amazing pet in an experienced pet home, where he could have a little adjustment time and lots of TLC! Please save this handsome sweet PASTRY today!!!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Pastry came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Pastry was nervous and attempted to flee. Reaction to assessor: Pastry is at the back of the cage, paws tucked beneath him. Reaction when softly spoken to: Pastry remains motionless. Reaction to cage door opening: Pastry meows softly. Reaction to touch: Pastry is stiff, very slowly begins to relax into petting. Reaction to pick up: Pastry steps out of assessor’s arms. Placement Determination: Experience Pastry does not approach the assessor, appears nervous, but allows petting and handling.
