08/13/17 11:17 Basic: Pasta is an 8 yr old female cat. Her owner has had her for 1 year and got her off the street. Her owner surrendered her because she was sick. She has a wound on her and has not seen a vet. Socialization: Pasta is shy for a few minutes around strangers and then friendly. She has spent time with children in the home (ages 6 and 7) and has been friendly with them. She plays exuberantly with children and adults. She has not spent time with other cats or other pets to her owner’s knowledge. She does not have a bite history. Behavior: Pasta is well-behaved at home but she can scratch on the furniture. She has not been on a car ride. She does not have any issues with using the litterbox and has never had accidents. She has never gotten a bath or a nail trim. She loves to be brushed. She likes being picked up and held, and isnt bothered when disturbed while resting. She struggles when put in the carrier. For New Family: Pasta is described as friendly, affectionate, playful and sometimes shy. She loves to sit on the windowsill and look outside. She loves to play with all toys. Her activity level is low right now and has been for around a month. Before that is was medium. She will follow her owner around the house or will be in her favorite spot. She has been kept indoors only. She sleeps in her bed in the living room. She likes dry food. She uses a hooded litterbox with Fresh Step clumping litter. She uses the furniture to scratch on and a horizontal scratching post with curves in it that is made of carpet and rough rope.

MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 8/12/17- Observed Behavior: friendly, allowed all handling ENRICHMENT NOTES: 8/13/17- Slowly exploring cage, eyes dilated, but soft posture. Lay down in litter box when door opened. Leaned into pets, closed eyes. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Pasta remains soft, lying down on her cage bedding with head up during the approach. Reaction to door opening: Pasta remains relaxed body posture, kneading in place. Reaction to touch: Pasta head bunts the assessor’s hand, purrs, and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Pasta interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
