Medical Summary addendum: continues to be severely tachypnic, eating a small amount when handfed, temp 100.4, chest rads show pleural effusion in R caudal-ventral lung fields, cardiomegaly and generally increased opacity in lungs pulse ox on ear 74% r/o poor reading vs hypoxia/hypoxemia thoracocenthesis = blood obtained from caudal ventral R thorazx transport to macc for overnight monitoring DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: 9-10 weeks Microchip noted on Intake? no History : stray admitted in am, diarrhea noted on intake by admissions counselor Subjective: Observed Behavior – lethargic Evidence of Cruelty seen – no Evidence of Trauma seen – no Objective T = 97.4 P = >200 R = 100 BCS 3/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: deciduous dentition, pale takcky muc membranes PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: gallop rhythm, heart murmur, CRT < 1, expiratory wheeze, tachypnic with abd effort, ABD: Non painfu distended abdomen, no masses palpated U/G: male intact MSI: Ambulatory x 4, severe flea infestation, fur covered with sticky material down dorsum CNS: dull/lethargic mentation, PLRs WNL, no obvious neuro deficits Rectal: Assessment anemia (r/o secondary to flea infestation vs systemic disease vs other) tachypnic with abdominal effort (r/o secondary to anemia vs other) abd distension (r/o gi inx vs gi non inx) Plan parvo neg clip fur down dorsum \30ml LRS SQ 1/2 Capstar PO bathe with dawn soap thoracic rads prognosis: open SURGERY: temporary waiver due to anemia and dehydration
