Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Pancake was curled up at the back of the kennel with eyes focused on all movements. Reaction when spoken to softly: Pancake lowers her head slowly and hides behind her blanket. Reaction to door cage opening: Pancake remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Pancake’s ears bend flat and her body is tense as you pet her. She starts to hiss then slowly turns her head towards the wall. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Pancake tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
