Although PALM is currently stable, vets advise that her condition may decline suddenly: She needs care AT A LOCAL VET TODAY BY 6PM. She is a sweet, friendly girl who has allowed all handling since arriving at BACC, although no behavior assessment has been done because of her medical. If you can help PALM, please let us know ASAP!

VC: Emaciated, dehydration.
S/O: QAR. Did not eat overnight. Ate small amount this AM. Marked skin tent, eyes sunken. NO vomit or stool in kennel. Generalized muscle wasting BCS 2/9. Pale MM, prolonged CRT.
Cardiothoracic auscultation WNL. Abdominal palpation has enlarged soft tissue structure mid-abdomen, fluid and gas filled small intestines.
A: Dehydration, anemia, poor body condition, abnormal abdominal palpation. Suspect malnutrition, possible underlying condition. Ddx for abdominal palpation findings enlarged uterus, splenomegaly, abnormal SI.
P: Recommend NH plea with deadline of 6pm tomorrow 5/16 (if Palm remains stable throughout the day and continues eating)
Palm will need IV fluids, CBC/CHEM/UA, +/- abdominal imaging, +/- infectious disease tests/titers.
Prognosis: Guarded
Scanned negative
QAR- alloewed all handling; sociable but weak with movements
Approx 8% dehydrated
Intacted female
Approx 1 yr old
Eyes- sunken in but clear; no discharge
Ears and nose- clean and clear
Teeth- white, no staining; tinited yellow mm.
Paplated abdomen- Abnormal intestines
Not eating
Dull coat
