Easily treatable…..PAGE’s former owner said they couldn’t complete the treatment so they jettisoned her at the ACC……PAGE was used to her family and is now understandably afraid and nervous. Bonus is she’s lived with younger and older children. Don’t let PAGE die because of something curable….Offer to foster or adopt now!

Hello, my name is Page. My animal id is #11185. I am a female black kitten at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 8 weeks old. – P
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 30-Oct-2017, with the surrender reason stated as animal health – other.
Page is at risk due to ringworm. This can be managed in home with oral medication and medicated baths. There are no known behavior concerns for Page at this time.

[DVM Intake] DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: 8 wks Microchip noted on Intake? neg History : O surrender Subjective: BAR, well behaved during PE and minimal handling but did not like restraint and blood draw, difficult to hold. Observed Behavior – Evidence of Cruelty seen – n Evidence of Trauma seen – n Objective T = P = wnl R = eup BCS 5/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted Oral Exam: neg oral, decid dentition PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated, distended abdomen U/G: intact female MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, poor hair coat. hypotrichosis to alopecic ringworm lesions throughout entire body CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: normal externally Assessment: approx. 8wk FI DSH Ringworm Prognosis: fair Plan: Wood’s Lamp — positive DTM plate submitted 10/30 Itraconazole 5mg/kg PO SID x 21 days Lyme dip twice a week x 2wks Re-DTM plate every 10 days. Continue treatment until 2 consecutive negative DTM plates. SURGERY: Temporary waiver due to ringworm

Upon intake, Page allowed to be collared and picked up. There was no further handling because she has ringworm.

Basic Information:: Page is a 2 month old female kitten that lived with previous owner for 2 weeks. Page was surrendered because she has ringworm and her previous owner could not complete the treatment.
Previously lived with:: Page previously lived with two adults and two children.
How is this cat around strangers?: Page is friendly and outgoing with strangers. Page will approach strangers and will greet them by being affectionate and playful. Page will allow strangers to pet her and pick her up.
How is this cat around children?: Page previously lived with a 6 year old and a 17 year old. Page is relaxed and affectionate and will allow children to pick her up, to be petted, and loves to cuddle.
How is this cat around other cats?: Page has only interacted with her mother and her siblings. Page is playful and can sometimes play somewhat rough.
How is this cat around dogs?: Page has not interacted with dogs and previous owner is unaware of how she would react.
Behavior Notes: When left alone, Page will cry and meow. During car rides, Page is relaxed or sleeping. During baths, Page will struggle and scratching to try and get away. When trimming her nails, Page will pull her paw away quickly. Page enjoys being picked up and is not bothered when being put into a carrier or when disturbed while sleeping.
Bite history:: Page has never tried to bite another animal or human.

For a New Family to Know: Page is a friendly, affectionate, playful, confident and independent cat. During the day, Page is more mellow and likes to cuddle up with anyone for a nap. During the night, Page has a higher energy level and loves to play with her favorite feather toy. When at home, Page will follow you around, sit on you and likes to keep you company. Page likes playing with balls and feathered toys. Page is an indoors only cat that was free-fed Meow-mix dry food and Friskies wet food. Page is litter box trained and used an uncovered litter box. Page had a two scratching posts one made of carpet and the other of cardboard.

Reaction to being picked up:: Page remains soft and allows all handling.
